"Rīgas satiksme" gets repeated confirmation of its conformity to ISO and OHSAS standards
Following an audit of SIA "Bureau Veritas Latvia", "Rīgas satiksme" repeatedly received a confirmation of its conformity to ISO 9001 standard, which is aimed at fulfilling clients’ requirements, and to OHSAS 18001 standard, which is aimed at improving labour safety and working conditions. The integrated management system of "Rīgas satiksme" has been functioning since the establishment of the company in 2003. Certificates of ISO and OHSAS standards are issued once in three years but conformity to their requirements is audited every year.
The audit took place on October 15, 2014. It was performed by certification company SIA "Bureau Veritas Latvia", which evaluated the work of the company’s management, transportation services, repair shops, personnel management, technical control unit, customer service centre, IT, quality management, internal audit section and also the parking lots. The auditors also checked how the employees know the usage of the individual protection means and acting in emergency situations.
The auditors gave a positive evaluation to "Rīgas satiksme’s" integrated management system, having recognized its conformity to the standard requirements. Still, some of their observations reflected the processes that needed to be improved, yet it did not affect the company’s conformity to international standards. The auditors focused on improving the quality documentation, fulfilling the requirements of labour safety as well as streamlining the processes of managing measuring equipment.
